Dr. Michael Corey McCarty is a Colorado native who played rugby at Colorado State University in Fort Collins. Both he and his wife earned their undergraduate degrees at Colorado State University.

Returning to Fort Collins after almost a 20 year absence, Dr. McCarty says, "I love the quality of life here. Fort Collins is small enough to be personable and diverse enough to be entertaining." In his spare time, Dr. McCarty likes to spend time with his family, "hanging out" in local parks, mountain biking in the foothills, camping, snow boarding, and exploring Old Town in Fort Collins.

Fort Collins Primary Care was attractive to Dr. McCarty because of the individualized and personalized patient care he could provide to his patients. "We want people to drive into our parking lot and say, 'this is where MY doctor's office is!' We know our patients well and expect to be available to them to help them with their health-care questions and needs throughout their lifetimes."

Dr. McCarty went to Osteopathic Medical School at the Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in Missouri and completed his residency in Portland, Oregon. He chose Osteopathic Family Medicine especially because the central tenet of osteopathic medicine is to consider the patient's mind, body and spirit when developing a treatment plan suited for each individual.
